Last time we went to the doctor we were only 9 weeks along so we knew we may or may not hear the baby's heartbeat since it was so early on. We had seen it on the last sonogram but really wanted to hear it too. When the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat at our last appointment we were disappoint and a little scared (apparently this "mother's worry" thing never stops!). We were so spoiled after seeing 5, 6 and 8 weeks sonograms at the fertility doc that we really wanted the reassurance again at the 9 week appointment. The doctor said "You just have a noisy placenta" which apparently is a good thing. It still didn't change the fact that we were a little disappointed.
Well, I guess good things come to those who wait because yesterday at our OBGYN appointment (this time were 15 1/2 weeks along we finally heard the baby's heartbeat! It took the doctor a little bit of time to find it (again, making me extremely nervous!) but she eventually found it! It is a nice, strong heartbeat :-) Below is a audio recording of the baby's heart. It almost sounds like he/she is building something in there. It's a construction zone!
We go in for another sonogram on August 3rd. If he/she cooperates, we'll hopefully know the sex of the baby then :-)
